Practical information (also in pdf)
The main aim of the conference is to put in perspective the different aspects of curvature tools in various branches of differential and metric geometry.
This conference is part of the thematic trimester on Ricci curvature and Ricci flow organized by Gérard Besson, John Lott and Gang Tian, hosted by the Institut Henri Poincaré in Paris, from April 14 to June 30, 2008. The conference is meant for a more general audience and will take place before the specialized workshops organized in Paris on 2-6 and 23-27 June.
The themes of the trimester (Ricci flow, geometrization, metric geometry...) will be well represented, but also other branches of geometry, so as to provide to a wide audience various points of view on current research in geometry. This conference is not for specialists only.
Lyon is renowned for the quality of its food and its beautiful historical buildings; it is ranked as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This conference will hopefully be an opportunity to combine a high-level scientific program with a great touristic stay.
