1- EL-Oued City in Rush
El-Oued city is located 650 KM southeast of Algiers. Although the official name is El-Oued, the city is most known in Algeria as Oued Souf.
The city is also famous by its beautiful sands” The City of Golden Sands”.
Area: 44.486,80 KM2
Population: 610.000.
The people of El-Oued are known as the “SU-WAFA” ( SU-FEE for a single), of pure Arabic roots. The dialect of SU-WAFA is one of the closest Algerian dialects to the standard Arabic language. French cannot be viewed as second spoken or a common language in this city, although many people understand and can communicate with it.

The Weather:
Winter: December- February:
Cold (07°C-17°C), dry most of the time, heavy rains for few days otherwise shining.
Spring: March-May:
Warm (20 °C-30°C), dry, Strong dust/sand-laden wind can last for a couple of days (sand storm), otherwise shining and very nice climate.
Summer: June-August:
Hot (very hot during the months of July and August )(35 - 48°C), very dry, dry and hot winds known as the “SHE-HEALEE” ( the Sirocco) .
Autumn: September –November:
As far as the weather is concerned this is the most beautiful period of the year: warm (20-30), shinning, almost no wind, few rains.
2-How to reach El-Oued:
1) From Algiers:
By Air:
There are three options indeed: From Algiers directly to El-Oued Airport or to Toggourt Airport ( 90 KM from El-Oued City, Taxi fare is 2 Euros per person “150 DA”), or to Biskra (220 KM from El-Oued City, Taxi fare is 4 Euros per person “300 DA”)

3-How to reach Souf Hotel:
First of all there is no need to give you the exact address (name and number of the street ,say) of Souf Hotel, since in this city people uses discrete coordinates systems (quantized or fuzzy coordinates). For instance, Souf hotel by itself is a reference and any one can indicate it to you.
Now:
-If you are coming by air directly to El-Oued Airport: A pick up will be arranged for you as soon as we learn the exact arrival date.
-If you are coming through Toggourt or Biskra, it is possible that we arrange for a pick up, but that we can not insure from now, however, you can take a taxi from Touggourt to El-Oued , once you arrive to El-Oued city than you can take a taxi to Souf Hotel (Taxi fare is 50 DA (1/2 Euro)).
-If you are coming by bus.
All bus stations (last stops) are located in the principle street of the city, Mohamed Khmistee Street.
- SOTRAV bus: Last stop is just 10 Minutes walking from Souf Hotel, and some one will be expecting you there.
- MHALO TRANSP bus: Last stop is just 02 Minutes walking from Souf hotel, and some one will be expecting you there as well.
- ELHAROUDJ bus: Last stop is just 08 Minutes walking from Souf Hotel .
